24 Guides Released! The Guidelines for the Open Fund Project for Innovative Research on Ship Overall Performance was released to the public

With the increasing diversification and complexity of the working environment of offshore platforms, the development trends of multi-disciplinary coupled design and performance-optimized driving have put forward higher and higher requirements for the overall performance research and development system of ships. At the same time, the rapid development and application of new-generation information technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and VR/AR have provided new research methods for the study of the overall performance of ships.
In order to make full use of all kinds of emerging technologies in the information age, gather the advantages inside and outside the industry, and reshape the research and development model of the overall performance of ships by in-depth integration of the research system of overall ship performance and application technology of computing engineering, the "Overall Performance Innovation of Ships" is now publicly released to the public. Research Open Fund”, and welcomes cooperation and exchanges between researchers from universities, scientific research institutions, and enterprises.

Declaration requirements
1. This batch of guidelines is publicly released to the public. The funding amount for each project is 400,000 to 1.5 million yuan, and the research period does not exceed 12 months. It will be funded by signing a contract with China Shipbuilding Research Center. For topics that have made significant progress, continuous funding will be provided in the follow-up; for topics that seriously fail to meet the requirements of technical indicators, funding will be terminated depending on the situation.
2. The applicant unit should have legal personality, strong scientific research ability and conditions, and standardized operation management.
3. Applicants should have a senior professional title or a doctoral degree, or be recommended by no less than two peer senior professional experts. Each applicant can only apply for one subject per year.
4. The applicant unit and project applicant should strictly implement the requirements of scientific research integrity, and the applicant unit is responsible for the application qualifications of the project applicant. Applications from units and applicants that have been included in the List of Untrustworthy Research Integrity and have not been lifted will not be accepted.
5. The project applicant can choose a guide item in the guide to carry out research, independently determine the project name, reasonably calculate the funding requirements, and propose testable and verifiable research results.
6. Please write the project application form on the basis of carefully reading the guide book (see Annex 1 for the template). The application form that does not meet the requirements of the guideline, and the application form that is not stamped or signed as required will be rejected due to failure. Formal review and eliminated. The unit's seal must be consistent with the name of the unit that signs the contract subsequently.
7. The research content should not involve state secrets, and the confidentiality review is the responsibility of the applicant's unit.
8. The application will be accepted by the Open Fund Management Office of China Shipbuilding Research Center, and the deadline for acceptance is April 10, 2022. Applicants must send the application form in Word electronic file (CD-ROM) and paper application form (in duplicate) to the management office before the deadline. Applications once accepted will not be returned.
9. After formal review, written review and meeting review, the research unit and the person in charge will be determined. The management office will inform the applicant of the arrangement of relevant activities and review results by phone, text message or email.
10. The research results obtained by the funded project, including published papers, monographs, research reports, software, patents, awards, and achievement reports, etc., shall be marked with the project funding and project approval number of the Open Fund for Innovation Research on Ship Overall Performance, or make relevant explanations.
11. In order to strengthen the academic exchange of funded projects, the Open Fund Management Office will hold academic seminars in related fields every year, and the person in charge of the funded project is obliged to participate in relevant academic exchange activities.
